Well, it looks like the baby rush is starting again...we got a call last week about a baby girl, and we decided to put our profile in to be considered for her. Well, we weren't chosen for her, but we got a call today about a baby who isn't born yet and we don't know the sex, but we put our profile in for consideration.

If that weren't enough excitement, we're heading out to the parents' condo in North Carolina this weekend. We're driving (in case we need to head out early) and we're bringing Lucy with us! On the way down, we're going to stop in Nashville (one of my favorite places) and visit with Jeremy's oldest friend Kristian and his wife and their daughter...stay the night and head on to NC in the morning. We're looking forward to the sun, the seafood and the sand...and overall the relaxation! I can't wait to get on the road :)

Nothing new on the adoption front...we're still waiting for our baby :) I'm a little over 7 months Paper Pregnant, and we were told that the average wait is around 9 months and 3 weeks, so I'm not worried about it.

I probably forgot to tell you, Jeremy and I started Weight Watchers again - today is our third weigh in, and I'm looking forward to seeing the result. We were completely off all week - Jeremy was in Detroit from Tuesday morning through Thursday night, we went to a wedding on Saturday and a family get together on Sunday. It all made for a fattie weekend, but we tried valiantly. It's a new week, so we'll get back on track.

Last night, I had the coolest experience. A girl on one of the message boards I frequent was coming to Chicago from Texas and wanted brides (former or current) to pose for edgy photos in their wedding gowns! Mine still fits, so I jumped on the chance. It was so much fun; we met in the Polish National Cemetery and took some beautiful photos. Jeremy came with me and we brought Lucy, and I got some cool pictures with her. One of the best parts is that not only are the pictures free, but I'll get a CD with all of the photos and I'll be able to make prints if I want!

We had our living room furniture picked up to be reupholstered...the living room looks awfully bare. We put my office chair up there so Lucy has something to sit on, but it's still very empty. I'm looking forward to getting the furniture back - I think it's going to be gorgeous! The green couch and chair are going to be a mocha stripe and the odd chair is going to be the same color but a diamond print. If I can find the fabric samples, I'll post pics.

It's been awhile since I've written...sorry about that! We're getting our house ready for a homestudy update - yesterday, Jeremy pulled out a bush in the front and finished the retaining wall next to our front steps. As always, he did a great job :) While he worked hard, I planted iris bulbs, kept him company, got him tools when needed and then took Lucy to the groomer (she was pretty stinky!) All in all, it was a productive day!

It's been beautiful around here lately...although today is a little chilly! My buddy Michelle and I have done some awesome dog transports, and I went with her last week to experience a home visit for a guy wanting to adopt an English Bulldog. I am hoping to get more into Pomeranian rescue, so I want to learn about that kinda stuff. It was weird to be on the other side of a home visit...OH the power! LOL

We have some fun things coming up - my work friend Jen's wedding on the 19th, a combo birthday party on the 20th and hopefully soon, a trip to North Carolina to visit the parents! I am really excited about getting away...this working thing really takes it out of you :)

It has been 6 months, two weeks and one day since we were officially on the "list"...which means we need to schedule an update for the homestudy. This one will be easier - as I understand, we don't both need to be there and it's just a quick look-around. At which time, I am going to point out our new garage door opener with the seeing eye thingy and a couple of other fun things. We're hoping to schedule this meeting in the next couple of weeks...

Last night I got a call from our counselor...B (the birthdad) has just come into the picture and thinks he may want to parent Baby J. In cases like this, all profiles are pulled until the kerfuffle is sorted out. We're not sure if or when we will know anything about this baby, or whether he will be parented by one of his parents.

There are currently 17 babies in our agency's nursery though, so perhaps one of those babies is ours. We will continue to keep our minds clear of any negativity and focus on the end result and hope that you can all join us in doing the same.

As written in the Tao Te Ching, chapter 33:

Knowing others is wisdom;
Knowing the self is enlightenment.
Mastering others requires force;
Mastering the self requires strength;
He who knows he has enough is rich.
Perseverance is a sign of will power.
He who stays where he is endures.
To die but not to perish is to be eternally present.

Jeremy and I thank you all for your enduring support, love and prayers.
